Matthew Pavlich is good at showing a clean pair of heels to his opponents on the footy field. Well now he has a clean car as well. The Fremantle Dockers captain talks about the benefits of using Car Care. As Australia’s largest mobile detailing service we can take care of your car while you take care of your day job – whatever that might be.

To look at what is on the market currently, you firstly have to examine the causes and effects of rust has on vehicles. Bare metal (steel) has a tendency to return to its natural state, which is Iron Oxide. The metal gives up its electrons, which exposes the Atom of the metal to Oxygen and Moisture which then combines with the metal Atom to form Ferric Oxide, otherwise known as Rust. As the metal rusts it creates electrons. If the metal is in a corrosive environment (such as salt water) the electrons are lost at a greater rate and the metal will therefore create more electrons, thus accelerating the corrosion process.
If the vehicles/structures paintwork is damaged by a stone chip or scratch and the metal is exposed, then a light coating of surface rust will form on the exposed metal, however, rust will not take hold as the surface rust in this instance takes the place of the missing paint and becomes the dielectric which in turn keeps the electrons from flowing away. The stone chip/scratch will be stabilised and turn a dark brown colour, which is non‐active ferric oxide.
At Car Care we have a product that beats rust head on right at corrosion process. The product is called Couplertec Electronic Rustproofing.
Q- Why rust proof a vehicle?
A-The majority of motor vehicles are made from metal and unfortunately when metal is combined with air and moisture the result is RUST or Oxidization. Simply washing a vehicle increases the chances of RUST damage. Any type of moisture, humidity, minerals, chemicals, and airborne salt as an example can also assist in the forming of RUST. Couplertec Electronic Rust Proofing Systems prevents rust from taking hold.
Q- my car already has some rust – Will Couplertec help?
A-Yes ‐ Even in severe cases, CouplerTec systems have been proven to slow the corrosion process. It is recommended that a CouplerTec system be installed prior to having your vehicle’s rust repaired, this will allow time for the CouplerTec Technology to stabilise any existing corrosion.
Q-If I sell my vehicle can I take the Couplertec system off and transfer it to another vehicle?
A-Yes. The CouplerTec system is easily transferred from one vehicle to another.
Q-Are there any other benefits of fitting a couplertec system to my vehicle?
A-Our research has determined that the addition of a CouplerTec system to a vehicle will ensure that small paint chips and scratches will not spread. There is also anecdotal evidence to suggest that the technology ensures the vehicle’s paintwork and lustre is kept looking like new for longer

The recent rains and general dampness in Qld has reminded us of some of the perils facing car owners.
Whenever we get heavy rain we are sure to get calls the following day because a window has been left open and water has flooded the vehicle. Our vans are equipped with an extractor shampooer and a wet/dry vacuum, both of which are capable of sucking out the excess water. Once we have removed as much of the water as possible, vehicle owners are reminded to ‘air’ the vehicle for as long as it takes for the seats & carpets to dry completely - park in the sun if possible and leave doors open or windows slightly down. If the vehicle is not allowed to dry it will soon get that ‘musty’ smell which will need additional work to rectify.
The river flood waters that inundated cars brought their own special problems – along with the water came smelly, sticky mud, and lots of it! Depending on the level of inundation, the carpets (and seats in severe cases), will have to be removed to be cleaned and/or replaced, or if not too severe, will be cleaned while still in the vehicle
We have also had a number of vehicles over the past few weeks that have had mould all over the interior. Vehicles have been locked away in a garage, some for just a few days while others for longer. With windows tightly wound up, the humid conditions coupled with summer warmth have proved happy growing conditions for mould. A good idea would be to leave the windows slightly down (just a centimetre or two), which will allow some air flow and help prevent the mould taking hold.

At Car Care we are always looking at new and innovative ways of showing the
public the kind of detailing we can achieve. With this particular idea we
wanted to show that with the polishing systems we have in place the results
can be spectacular.
You can see by the photos the paintwork had deteriorated almost to the point
of no return (some people would have thought) the damage to the paint is
called oxidisation and tends to turn the paintwork “chalky” and makes it
very dull.
We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the best results in the
business; the polishing equipment we use is the best money can buy with all
our detailers being fully trained in all aspects to be able to deliver the
same results as can be seen on the accompanying photos.
In this particular case we used a 3 part polishing process to deliver the
great shine and depth. First of all the paint was “cut back” or “compounded”
to remove the damaged paint. Secondly a fine less abrasive polish was used
to remove the fine scratches that “cutting back” or “compounding” will
sometimes leave in the paintwork. Finally a finishing polish was used to
give great depth and shine to the final outcome.
All the polishes used by Car Care franchisees are of high quality and have
been tested by Car Care before being used out in the field. This gives our
customers peace of mind that not only are they getting a fully trained
technician working on their car, all the products and methods used have been
tried and tested. So if your car is in need of any aspect of detailing Car
Care can deliver the sort of results you need, contact us today you won’t be
disappointed.
By applying Car Care’s specially developed vehicle protection packages you have taken an important step in, not only making it look its best, but keeping it that way for years to come. A better looking car means a higher re-sale price.
The first thing you will notice is how much easier your car is to clean – water just runs off it and a quick wipe with a micro-fibre chamois leaves a brilliant shine – but contrary to some claims it doesn’t mean you never have to clean it. Any blemishes should be removed as soon as you spot them using the appropriate product. In most cases a wipe over with Car Care’s Dry Wash and Guard is all that is needed.
What that extra layer has given you – apart from making it look great – is a little longer to deal with any problems. Things to watch out for:
Road contaminants
If, over a long period of time, oils, dirt, tar, exhaust and other pollutants are allowed to build up, they combine to affect the paint finish.
Nature
Tree sap, bird droppings, insects, salt/bore water and other natural deposits can, if allowed to stay on the paint work, leave an etching or scarring. All of the above should Continue reading →
